Pemberton Festival 2008

Wow someone sent me the line-up on Facebook and I thought it was some kind of a joke, the musical acts that have been confirmed so far blew me away, Death Cab For Cutie… Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers… Coldplay… Jay-Z… Wintersleep… Nine Inch Nails… All in this small town located in Pemberton BC, at the base of Mount Currie near Whistler. It’s going to happen July 25th-27th and I am simply excited to see this festival, probabaly one of the biggest festivals in Canada in it’s inaugural year. This event seemed to come out of the blue and should be one to remember, I cant wait. Tickets are on sale March 28th.

I have been sitting here for the last hour trying to figure out how best to describe Thomas Toka. Wet crafts songs that have an electronic music appeal whilst at the same time combining electronica and this open aromatic (hard to describe) feeling.

Consider this — if your business model depends on a paying a non-living wage and pushing your workers into the safety net (provided by others), then you are not an entrepreneur; you are an exploiter. To borrow a popular hate phrase: You are not a producer; you are a parasite.

I request that you serve the people of Missouri and reject the politics of GOP obstruction at all costs.
